Family Hike
We decided to head out for a family hike this weekend. In a miraculous turn of events, we made it out of the house before 10:30 AM (and we didn't even forget any shoes, jackets, or snacks). Thankfully, this relatively early start time meant that Henry was ready for a nap when we arrived. Chris wore Henry in one of our Ergos and after about 1/3 mile, Henry was sound asleep. Evelyn was giddy at the prospect of a little exploration. She had plenty to say, which meant that we didn't exactly make friends with wildlife. That's OK; I didn't really want to see a cougar while out with little ones.

Thankful
I took this picture of Henry and me as we went outside to rake leaves in the gorgeous afternoon sun while Evelyn napped (!!!). It seems that Henry is once again on good terms with the Ergo baby carrier. Hooray! I love the Moby wrap as much as the next gal but I'm all for options and the wrap is currently under a heap of laundry.

I am so thankful that I was able to get a normal human amount of sleep last night. We had some help this morning so I got to keep sleeping when Chris went to work. Even one extra hour makes such a difference! I am also so grateful that today is sunny and clear. The mountains are visible from the main street up on our hill and the leaves are colorful-- it's just such a nice treat to feel awake on a beautiful day. Here's to hoping that there are many more good days to come!
